GAME NOTES: The Maryland Terrapins look to wrap up their lengthy homestand with another victory, as they host the Florida State Seminoles in Atlantic Coast Conference play at the Comcast Center.

Maryland will end its season-long eight-game homestand. The Terrapins improved to 13-1 with Saturday's 94-71 rout of Virginia Tech, as their only loss of the season came against defending national champion Kentucky by a three-point margin back in November. Eleven of the Terps' 14 games so far this season have been played inside the Comcast Center, where they boast an average margin of victory of 20 points.

Florida State has also gotten hot of late with wins in five of its last six outings, including a 71-66 triumph at Clemson over the weekend. The Seminoles have gone 5-1 outside of Tallahassee this season and will wrap up a five-game road swing with this game. Next up, they'll host North Carolina on Saturday afternoon.

FSU has not won at Maryland since Feb. 14, 2001, a span of nine games. Maryland leads the all-time series, 29-11, although the Seminoles notched an 84-70 victory when these teams last met nearly a year ago.

The Seminoles withstood quite a challenge from Clemson in their ACC opener, as they watched a 16-point lead nearly evaporate over the final 20 minutes. Okaro White (12.9 ppg, 6.1 rpg) sealed the victory when he stole an inbounds pass with 16.9 seconds remaining, got fouled, and hit a pair of free throws to make it a five-point game. White finished with 15 points to pace the Seminoles, as he shot 3-of-6 from beyond the arc and also pulled down seven rebounds. As a team, FSU knocked down 10-of-23 threes (.435). Terrance Shannon grabbed eight boards and matched Terry Whisnant with 11 points. It was a relatively quiet game from leading scorer and preseason All-American Michael Snaer (15.6 ppg), who finished with only eight points on 2-of-7 shooting from the floor. However, when the Seminoles are dialed in from long range, they are tough to beat. The Seminoles make their living from the perimeter, where they are averaging 7.2 3-pointers per game. Saturday's win over Clemson marked the third time already this season that FSU made at least 10 threes in a single game.

This has the potential to be a high-scoring affair between two teams that like to push the tempo. Maryland is shooting a ridiculous 50.4 percent from the floor as a team, while posting 77.7 ppg for a +17.6 scoring margin. Through Saturday's games, the Terps were third in the nation in rebounding margin (+12.7), fourth in field-goal percentage defense (.352), and fifth in assists per game (18.4). In other words, they are playing very well on both ends of the floor. Alex Len paces the squad with 13.5 points and 8.1 caroms per contest, while Dez Wells is next in line with 12.3 ppg. Both of those players are shooting a rock-solid 57 percent from the floor and are the primary reasons behind the team's offensive efficiency. The Terps did not face much resistance against Virginia Tech, as they shot 55.6 percent from the floor in the first half and knocked down 7-of-14 threes en route to a 16-point halftime advantage. Seth Allen led the way with 21 points, while freshman Jake Layman scored 18 of his 20 points during that decisive first half.

It would not be wise to pick against the Terps during their impressive run, particularly when they are playing at home. FSU has also been playing well and should put up a fight, but in the end, the Terps will prevail.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Maryland 81, Florida State 76
