Kennesaw, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kendrick Perry poured in 31 points to lead the Youngstown State Penguins to a 75-67 victory over the Eastern Kentucky Colonels as part of the Kennesaw State Men's Basketball Tournament at the KSU Convocation Center.

Perry connected on 11-of-19 shots from the field and added nine rebounds and seven assists for Youngstown State (3-0). Ryan Weber added 17 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double.

Glenn Cosey and Orlando Williams each scored 12 points to pace Eastern Kentucky (2-1). Marcus Lewis added 10 points and Eric Stutz chipped in 10 off the bench.

At the end of the first half the Penguins held a 36-26 lead after shooting at a 42.9 percent clip and sinking seven shots from 3-point range. Eastern Kentucky was unable to keep up and had only eight total field goals.

The second half was a different story for the Penguins, who shot just 38.5 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes. However, the Colonels were unable to capitalize as they shot below 40 percent from the field as well.

Youngstown State had a 45-30 advantage in rebounds and a 21-8 edge in second chance points. Eastern Kentucky scored 21 points off of turnovers.
