NCAA Game Summary - Ole Miss at Mississippi State

Starkville, MS (SportsNetwork.com) - Roquez Johnson tallied 20 points and seven rebounds as the Mississippi State Bulldogs held on for a 76-72 victory over the Ole Miss Rebels in a Southeastern Conference action at Humphrey Coliseum.
Craig Sword added 15 points and swiped seven steals for the Bulldogs (11-4, 1-1 SEC) while Colin Borchert chipped in 14 points and three blocked shots. I.J. Ready scored 10 points and handed out four assists to help MSU notch its first league win of the campaign.
Ole Miss (10-4, 1-0) came up short despite a strong showing by Jarvis Summers, who pumped in 23 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor. LaDarius White chimed in with 16 points and Derrick Millinghaus had 15 to go along with seven boards. Aaron Jones grabbed a team-high nine rebounds in 21 minutes before fouling out.
MSU shot 40.6 percent from the floor and converted 13-of-21 attempts at the charity stripe in the first half en route to a 43-36 lead at the intermission. The Rebels attempted only five free throws, but connected on 6-of-13 tries from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes.
The Bulldogs went 0-of-9 from beyond the arc in the second stanza. Ole Miss was unable to overcome its halftime deficit as it was limited to 35.1 percent efficiency from the field after the break.
Ole Miss played without leading scorer Marshall Henderson, who was serving the second game of his two-game suspension from SEC play. The Rebels came into the contest shooting 38.4 percent from 3-point range, however they finished 10- of-29 from beyond the arc without their star shooting guard.
