NCAA Game Summary - Troy at South Alabama

Mobile, AL (Sports Network) - Augustine Rubit tallied 21 points and 12 rebounds as the South Alabama Jaguars used a late surge to take down the Troy Trojans, 65-62, in a Sun Belt Conference showdown at the Mitchell Center.
It was Rubit's 13th double-double of the season for South Alabama (13-9, 10-4 Sun Belt), which has won two in a row and five of its last six. Dre Connor made all eight of his free-throw attempts en route to 11 points.
For Troy (10-14, 5-8), Emil Jones scored a career-high 23 points on 9-of-16 from the field. Hunter Williams (12 points) and Antoine Myers (11 points) were also solid for the Trojans, who had won three of their previous four.
Troy shot 13-of-32 (.406) from the field in the first half as it took a 31-28 lead into intermission. South Alabama shot a greater percentage than Troy in the opening frame (.458), but it attempted eight fewer field goals.
The Trojans held a 43-35 advantage with 12 minutes left in the game, but the Jaguars answered with a 20-5 spurt to go ahead for good. Troy kept the game close down the stretch but could never again regain the lead.
South Alabama finished 24-of-33 from the foul line, with 21 of those makes coming in the second half. Troy shot 90.9 percent from the stripe on the evening but had only 11 attempts.
