GAME NOTES: Fresh off one of its biggest wins of the season, the Texas Tech Red Raiders will try to keep the good times rolling when they challenge the Oklahoma Sooners in Big 12 Conference action on Wednesday night.

Texas Tech has had a lackluster campaign under first-year head coach Tubby Smith, logging a 12-11 overall record, which includes a 4-6 league ledger. The Red Raiders have however, won two in a row, including a 65-61 home triumph over No. 19 Oklahoma State last Saturday. Their previous outing resulted in a 60-54 victory over visiting TCU, but now they head out on the road where they are just 1-6 this season, 2-7 when you factor in a pair of neutral-site affairs.

Oklahoma had been a member of the Top-25 as recently as last week, and the team brings an 18-6 record into this contest, which includes a 7-4 mark in Big 12 play. The Sooners began the month of February with losses to Iowa State and West Virginia, but beat visiting Baylor last Saturday, 88-72, to improve to 11-2 at home. OU has several tough games ahead, as it will face Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Kansas, Texas and West Virginia before closing out the regular season at TCU on March 8.

These two teams met in Lubbock on Jan. 25, and the Sooners won that one, 74-65. As a result, Oklahoma's lead in the all-time series stands at 34-20.

Jaye Crockett scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help lead Texas Tech to its second win over a ranked foe in the last month, this time topping the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The game featured 13 ties and a dozen lead changes, and the Red Raiders used a dominant scoring performance in the paint (32 points) to keep the Pokes at bay.

Crockett is one of only two double-digit scorers on the Texas Tech roster at the moment, as he is netting 14.7 ppg while also spearheading the team's rebounding effort with 6.5 rpg. Jordan Tolbert (11.0 ppg, 5.7 rpg) lends a hand, but the Red Raiders rely more on balance, as four others account for at least 7.0 ppg. The team as a whole owns narrow advantages in scoring and rebounding, but is guilty of roughly 12 turnovers per outing.

Isaiah Cousins poured in 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help power Oklahoma to a double-digit win over Baylor last weekend. Buddy Hield tacked on 19 points thanks to a 5-of-8 effort from 3-point range, the team as a whole going 14-of-29 from distance. Cameron Clark chipped in with 16 points, while Jordan Woodward dished out seven of the team's 16 assists. OU shot 53.6 percent from the floor, while holding the Bears to 42.4 percent.

Hield (17.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg) continues to pace five Sooners in double figures, as he has attempted nearly three times as many 3-pointers as his closest teammate. Ryan Spangler is averaging a double-double with 10.6 points and 10.0 caroms per contest, helping Oklahoma put up 83.8 ppg and logging a +2.5 rebounding differential. The Sooners are connecting on 37.7 percent of their long-range launches, while converting nearly 75 percent of their free throws.

Taking to the road, where they've had very little success this season, to tangle with a formidable group of Sooners isn't likely to result in a favorable outcome for the Red Raiders this evening.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Oklahoma 79, Texas Tech 67
