GAME NOTES: The Marist Red Foxes will try to pick up their third win in a row, as they host the Penn Quakers at McCann Arena in a non-conference bout.

Penn has not played a game since it suffered a 75-69 overtime loss to Wagner on Dec. 7. The setback was the third in a row and dropped the Quakers to a 2-6. The team has registered a new season-low in field goal percentage in back-to-back games after being stifled by Villanova (21-of-62) and the Seahawks (20-of-61). Coach Jerome Allen's squad has been sporadic at the offensive end en route to an average of 70.3 points per game. In addition to their poor showing from the floor against Wagner, the Quakers also went only 21-of-32 at the charity stripe.

Coach Jeff Bower's Red Foxes dug themselves a deep hole with nine consecutive losses to start the season, but they have looked like a completely new team over their past two games. Marist managed to take down the College of Charleston, 69-62, before notching a 69-51 rout of Bucknell on Friday. The Red Foxes opened up their bout with the Bison on a 16-0 run and completely shut down (15-of-52 from the field). Marist will return to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play when it hosts Fairfield on Jan. 2.

The all-time series is tied at 1-1. The teams played a home-and-home series in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons, with each winning in its own building.

Penn has four players averaging double figures in scoring, but has not had more than three double-digit scorers in any game this season. Sophomore guard Tony Hicks has struggled in his three outings since his 33-point outing against Niagara. Hicks has connected on only 9-of-34 shots from the field and committed 17 turnovers during that span. Senior forward Fran Dougherty registered a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards in the Quakers' loss to Wagner. Sophomore center Darien Nelson-Henry chipped in 11 point to reach double figures for the second game in a row. Senior guard Miles Jackson- Cartwright has been a threat on the offensive end since arriving in Philadelphia and already has 1,174 career points.

Junior swingman Chavaughn Lewis scored a game-high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and two steals against Bucknell in Marist's second triumph of the season. Junior guard T.J. Curry netted 11 points and six boards, while senior center Adam Kemp tallied 12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Lewis has scored at least 13 points in all but one of his games this season and is averaging a career-high 17 ppg. Khalid Hart and Jay Bowie are the second- and third-leading scorers for the Red Foxes with 10.5 and 9.5 ppg, respectively.

If Lewis and Kemp continue to provide Marist with a solid one-two punch, the Red Foxes have a decent chance of fending off the Quakers. Penn has had a long break since its last outing and will be well prepared as it tries to stop Marist's improved attack.
