Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Darren White scored 20 points and added nine rebounds, and James Madison rolled over NC Central, 79-66, in the final round of the 2k Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer at U.S. Century Bank Arena.
Pierre Curtis added 16 points and seven rebounds, going 3-for-3 from the field and 8-for-8 from the free throw line for James Madison (2-2), which has won two games in a row, including a victory Sunday against the tournament's host, FIU. Dazzmond Thornton contributed 14 points, while Julius Wells had 13.
C.J. Wilkerson led the game with 21 points for the Eagles (1-5), who have lost three straight games. Nick Chasten had 12 points, and T.J. Granger and Vincent Davis each scored nine in defeat.
James Madison led by one early, 16-15, and an ensuing 10-1 run increased its lead to 10 with nine minutes left in the first half. The Dukes' advantage ballooned to 16 at halftime, and their lead reached as many as 21 in the second half.
The Dukes shot 64.3 percent in the first half and 54.7 percent overall, compared to just 33.3 percent and 37.7 percent, respectively, for NC Central.
