(Saturday, November 9)

Final Score: Boston College 48, New Mexico State 34

Las Cruces, NM (SportsNetwork.com) - Andre Williams rushed for an impressive 295 yards and two key touchdowns as the Boston College Eagles pulled out a 48-34 victory over the New Mexico State Aggies at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

Williams set the record on 30 carries for Boston College (5-4), which got its first road win of the year. Chase Retting threw for 230 yards and three additional scores on 17-of-25 passing, while Alex Amidon had eight receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Andrew McDonald threw for 384 yards and three touchdowns on 41-of-55 passing but was also intercepted once for NMSU (1-9). Austin Franklin brought in two of those scores and tallied 145 yards total on 10 receptions. Xavier Hall led the way on the ground with 95 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Even though the Aggies scored first, on a 43-yard field goal from Maxwell Johnson, it was the Eagles that controlled the opening period.

Nate Freese knocked in a pair of field goals, one from 51 yards and the other from 39, but the big play was a 69-yard touchdown pass from Rettig to Mike Naples.

The first score of the second quarter came from the Aggies, who cut into the Eagles' lead with a 14-yard touchdown pass from McDonald to Franklin.

Retting threw his second touchdown pass later in the period on a seven-yard strike to Harrison Jackson.

A 10-yard touchdown run from Hall in the final seconds of the first half allowed the Aggies to remain within striking distance heading into halftime.

Rettig connected with Amidon for a 30-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter to give the Eagles a 10-point lead yet again.

The Aggies refused to go away as McDonald connected with Jerrel Brown for a 16-yard touchdown pass less than five minutes later.

NMSU evened the score at 27-27 early in the fourth quarter with a 32-yard field goal from Johnson.

The tie was short-lived. Myles Willis took the ensuing kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown to give the Eagles the lead once again.

McDonald threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Franklin midway through the final period to even the score.

The quick strikes kept coming as the Eagles pulled ahead with an 80-yard touchdown run from Williams.

Williams added a 47-yard touchdown run later in the period to put the game away for the Eagles.
