NCAA Game Summary - Temple at Navy

Annapolis, MD (Sports Network) - Bernard Pierce ran 41 yards for a touchdown with 2:41 left in the game to give the Temple Owls a 27-24 win over the Navy Midshipmen in a non-conference game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
The win was the Owls' sixth straight, their longest streak since 1974, and made them eligible for their first bowl appearance in three decades.
Pierce finished with 267 rushing yards and two scores, as he became the first Owl (6-2) since Paul Palmer in 1986 to eclipse 200 yards rushing in back-to- back games.
Vince Murray ran for 115 yards and a touchdown for Navy (6-3), which had its five-game winning streak stopped. Kriss Proctor started at quarterback for the Midshipmen for the second week in a row and he rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Navy opened the scoring when Joe Buckley kicked a 30-yard field goal with three minutes left in the first quarter.
Temple took the lead four minutes into the second period when Pierce raced 68 yards for a score.
Navy moved back in front after David Wright recovered a fumble off a botched Owl punt and took it three yards to the end zone with just under two minutes left in the first half.
Temple responded immediately, as James Nixon returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for a score to give the Owls a 14-10 lead.
Brandon McManus extended the Owls' lead to 17-10 with a 45-yard field goal three minutes into the third quarter.
Murray tied the game for Navy midway through the period when he scored on a five-yard run to conclude a 29-yard drive that was set up when Temple fumbled away a punt.
The Midshipmen grabbed a 24-17 lead when Proctor scored on a two-yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter.
McManus kicked a 21-yard field goal with 12 minutes left in the game to pull the Owls within four.
Pierce's winning touchdown capped a 59-yard drive for Temple, which gained 274 of its 311 total yards on the ground.
