NCAA Game Summary - Virginia Tech at North Carolina

Chapel Hill, NC (Sports Network) - Darren Evans rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown, as the Virginia Tech Hokies defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels, 20-17, in an ACC battle at Kenan Stadium.
As a team, Virginia Tech finished with 127 rushing yards in the win. Tyrod Taylor struggled for the Hokies (3-1, 2-0 ACC), throwing for just 125 yards on 11-of-21 passing. Taylor also tossed two interceptions and was sacked twice.
As for UNC (2-1, 0-1), the team was led by Greg Little, who rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown. T. J. Yates completed 11-of-18 passes for 181 yards and one touchdown in the setback.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Tar Heels found the scoreboard first with a 27-yard field goal by Jay Wooten.
Midway through the second stanza, the Hokies answered back with a 19-yard field goal by Dustin Keys.
With less than two minutes remaining in the half Yates hit Brandon Tate with a 32-yard touchdown pass, giving UNC a 10-3 lead as the two teams went into the break.
A 50-yard touchdown run by Greg Little midway through the third frame pushed the Tar Heels lead to 17-3.
Darren Evans cut the Hokies' deficit to 17-10 with a 10-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter.
Virginia Tech evened the score at 17 apiece early in the fourth frame when Kenny Lewis scored on an 11-yard run.
A 45-yard field goal by Keys gave Virginia Tech its first lead of the game, and that is all the Hokies would need, as they went on to win by a 20-17 margin.
