GAME NOTES: The Miami Hurricanes travel to the mid-west to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The reigning ACC champion Hurricanes come into this contest having won two straight games to end the Wooden Legacy. In their final game of the tournament, Miami edged Arizona State, 60-57 on Sunday. Miami overcame a 10- point deficit and benefitted from sloppy play from the Sun Devils in the closing minutes to escape with the win.

Davon Reed scored 19 points to lead the Hurricanes, who won their final two games in the tournament by a combined five points. James Kelly added 11 points for Miami, which also defeated Cal State Fullerton, 48-46, just two days prior.

Rion Brown leads Miami in scoring this season with 12.4 points per game and he is also grabbing a team-best 7.1 rebounds per game. Garrius Adams (11.8 ppg) and Donnavan Kirk (10.3 ppg) also add double-figure scoring averages, but the Hurricanes are netting just 65.8 points per game as a team.

Nebraska enters this contest fresh off a 63-58 win over a pesky Northern Illinois squad. The Cornhuskers led by as many as 13 points in the second half, but the Huskies refused to go away, cutting the deficit to one point with nine seconds left, 59-58. However, Deverell Biggs sank four free throws over the final seconds to secure the win.

Biggs led Nebraska off the bench with 18 points. Leslee Smith finished with 13 points and Terran Petteway scored 12 for the Cornhuskers, who have won two in a row.

Petteway leads the Cornhuskers with 16.0 points per game, as he continues to convert from the free-throw line. The forward has hit 34-of-39 attempts, good for 87.2 percent. Shavon Shields adds 12.4 points per game and Biggs increased his points-per game average to 12 thanks to his recent effort.

This marks the fifth time the Cornhuskers and Hurricanes will be meeting on the hardwood. Nebraska leads the series 3-1, winning the last three matchups. The most recent meeting was on Dec. 30, 2006 with the Cornhuskers coming away with an 82-67 victory in the Orange Bowl Classic. This will be Miami's second- ever visit to Lincoln and the first since an 85-58 Husker win on Dec. 18, 1970.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Nebraska 68, Miami 62.
