GAME NOTES: The Boise State Broncos aim for their fourth straight win on Saturday night as they host the Colorado State Rams in Mountain West Conference action at Taco Bell Arena.

Tied with Air Force for fifth place in the MWC standings with a record of 7-6 heading into the weekend, the Broncos were in action just three nights ago when they demolished the Nevada Wolf Pack at home, 73-47. The victory was the fourth in the last five outings for BSU.

Meanwhile the Rams, who were nationally-ranked just a short time ago, are alone in second place with a 9-4 record, trailing only New Mexico which is 11-2. Colorado State is coming off a trying 74-67 win versus Fresno State at home three nights ago, the team's 15th win in 16 tries in Fort Collins this season.

The Rams crushed Boise State in the first meeting of the season at Moby Arena, 77-57, which means Colorado State now leads the all-time series by a count of 7-3.

After having their lengthy home win streak snapped last weekend, the Rams got right back out there on Wednesday night and took down Fresno State by seven points. Colton Iverson recorded another double-double with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, but it was Wes Eikmeier who led the team in scoring with 18 points. Dorian Green tacked on 16 points and Daniel Bejarano 11 off the bench as the squad held on after allowing the visitors to hit 50.0 percent from the field.

Iverson, who always has the potential to deliver a double-double as long as he can stay out of foul trouble, leads the program in both scoring (14.0 ppg) and rebounding (9.9 rpg). Iverson is shooting an impressive 57.1 percent from the field, but a not-so-hot 59.1 percent at the free-throw line, although the rest of the team has picked up the slack as the Rams have outscored the competition by 124 points at the charity stripe.

It was one of the weakest offensive efforts in recent memory for Nevada, but that certainly worked in favor of the Broncos as the hosts grabbed the lopsided win at Taco Bell Arena earlier this week. Anthony Drmic tallied a game-high 26 points and Ryan Watkins chipped in with 14 and cleared eight rebounds as BSU shot 49.1 percent from the floor and also held the Wolf Pack to a dismal 26.3 percent (10-of-38).

Overall this season, the Broncos are outscoring the competition by 9.3 ppg, but when it comes to league bouts only the returns are not nearly as favorable, with the squad beating MWC foes by a mere 0.4 ppg. Drmic leads the way in those latter meetings with 18.5 ppg, shooting an impressive 83.6 percent at the free-throw line. Derrick Marks checks in with another 14.9 ppg, accounting for a team-best 48 assists as well in order to keep the offense moving.

The Rams are still a dominant force in the paint and with Boise State opting to open with a four-guard offense, the Broncos will certainly be at a disadvantage.
