Newark, DE (SportsNetwork.com) - Devon Saddler scored 21 points and became the all-time leading scorer for the Delaware Blue Hens, who completed an 80-67 victory over the Northeastern Huskies in Colonial Athletic Association action at the Bob Carpenter Center.
Saddler added eight assists as he surpassed Mike Pegues for the most points scored in program history for Delaware (17-7, 9-0 CAA). Davon Usher finished with a game-high 25 points and Carl Baptiste recorded a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds to go with three blocks as well for the Blue Hens, who have won 11 straight. Kyle Anderson tallied 15 points.
Scott Eatherton had 21 points and eight rebounds for Northeastern (7-16, 4-5), while David Walker dropped in 12.
In the first half the Blue Hens sank 51.6 percent from the floor, including an impressive 8-of-12 effort from 3-point range. They led 48-29 at intermission, with the Huskies only shooting 40 percent in the frame.
Although Northeastern improved to 55.6 percent shooting after halftime, it was not enough to overcome the Blue Hens, who cooled to 35.1 percent shooting, but got an extra 10 shots from the field.
Delaware had a 43-31 edge on the boards, including a 16-5 difference on the offensive glass, leading to a 20-9 advantage in second chance points.
