Byrd might be a good temporary fix

Marlon Byrd has been hot of late.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Are you searching around for outfield help due to injury or perhaps just need a hitter for a temporarily slumping batter?

Perhaps you should look at Marlon Byrd, outfielder for the Texas Rangers. The Rangers lead the league in average (.281), runs (648), total bases (1,861) and are second in home runs. So when Byrd gets on base there is a high probability that he will score.

Byrd has been hot of late, hitting .316 with three HR, 12 RBI and 13 runs scored over the past 16 games (three weeks). He has played nearly everyday in part because Milton Bradley has been injured allowing Josh Hamilton to DH and because Brandon Boggs could not win the outfield job all for himself with his .248 batting average.

Texas has two more games at home against the New York Yankees, which has a pitching staff that looks more like a Texas Ranger staff giving up runs in bunches - 73 runs in the last 10 games. Then it's off to Baltimore (4.68 ERA) where pitching is but a faint memory. Three games in Boston and then back home to the hitter-friendly confines of Arlington for a nine-game homestand.

Byrd should continue to put up decent numbers for the next two weeks, so if you are battling injuries or slumping hitters, he is your man.
