Insight: Favre hasn't played since 2010 and he wisely declined the invitation. The Rams are stuck starting journeyman Kellen Clemens Monday night against Seattle.

Description: Brett Favre is retired, period. Despite rumors about him signing in Philly to mentor Michael Vick, it's more likely he will stay retired until some team loses its starting QB in the season and his phone rings.
Insight: Favre has shocked us in the past by coming out of retirement right after training camp, so anything is possible. But it's more likely, this time around, that he stays retired and watches the NFL from his living room. Again, there's always a possibility a team gets desperate at some point in the season and reaches out, but don's expect Favre to start the season on any roster.

Description: Retired QB Brett Favre hasn't made any indication that he's pondering a return for a 21st NFL season, however, there remains speculation Favre might have one more comeback attempt in him. SOURCE: NFL BLOGS
Insight: Favre's interest in mentoring Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton indicates he still has the bug to return. The Seattle Seahawks could be a potential destination should Favre decide to return.

Description: Alex Marvez of Fox Sports.com reports Favre has filed his retirement paper work with the NFL.
Insight: Favre also did this two years ago, but this time it may be for real. That said, until he's not in uniform for someone Week 1 of a season it's hard to completely believe he will retire. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Sources say QB Brett Favre has officially filed his retirement papers with the NFL. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: He did it once before in 2009, but this will be it for Favre. Mediocre play, a multitude of injuries and off-field problems are sure to knock him out for good.

Description: Two women are reportedly suing QB Brett Favre for sexual harassment after he made lewd passes at them while they were with the Jets working as massage therapists. SOURCE: ABC NEWS
Insight: Favre allegedly texted the victims in an attempt to have a three-way, along with some other incidents that aren't even worth mentioning. Considering that all this happened two years ago and the women are coming forward now, after the whole Jenn Sterger fiasco, it makes us think that they could be looking for money. Since Favre is done with football, this pretty much has zero bearing on the fantasy world.

Description: Vikings QB Brett Favre announced his retirement following the loss to the Lions. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: "It's time. I know it's time." Favre said he has "no regrets," but expressed some concern regarding his latest concussion. A shell of his self in 2009, we think Favre actually means it this time. With Lezlie Frazier signing on as the head coach in 2011, it will be interesting to see if he gives Joe Webb a chance to start after two straight wins.

Description: Vikings QB Brett Favre failed his concussion test again on Wednesday. SOURCE: MINNEAPOLIS STAR-TRIBUNE
Insight: It was looking a bit promising that Favre would get to play one last NFL game against the Lions, but it's now looking like it will take a miracle for him to be ready after still not being medically cleared. Favre wasn't an option this weekend anyway.

Description: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Favre (concussion) failed another concussion test on Wednesday.
Insight: Favre will need to be medically cleared before he can play Week 17 against Detroit, otherwise Joe Webb will get another start. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: "The NFL has fined Brett Favre $50,000 for a "failure to cooperate" with the investigation into allegations he sent inappropriate messages and lewd photos to a former New York Jets game-day hostess." SOURCE: NBC SPORTS
Insight: Favre was found to not have violated any rules in the personal conduct policy. This is mere pennies since Favre collected $16 million this year. A suspension would have done nothing since Favre is likely through with having to deal with the weekly injuries from another season.

Description: If he passes his concussion test in time, the Vikings will go with QB Brett Favre for Week Seventeen against the Lions. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: With this likely being Favre's last game, hopefully, we aren't surprised that the Vikings will roll with the veteran. Despite everything going against him, Joe Webb put up an exceptional performance against the Eagles Tuesday night, but playing Favre, if he is medically cleared, is the right thing to do.

12/29/2010 10:01:00 AM
Description: Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Vikings' head coach Leslie Frazier said he is sticking with Favre (concussion) in the season finale if he passes his concussion tests.
Insight: Joe Webb played well on Tuesday night, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Favre get one last chance. (RapidDraft.com)

12/27/2010 2:05:00 PM
Description: According to Vikings HC Leslie Frazier, QB Brett Favre still hasn't passed his initial post-concussion test. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: The concussion against the Bears probably wouldn't have been as severe if it hadn't been for the field's surface being as hard as concrete because of the weather. Joe Webb still looks like he will start against the Eagles Tuesday night.

Description: 1500 ESPN.com's Tom Pelissero reports Favre (concussion) still has not passed his post- concusion tests and remains doubtful for Tuesday night against the Eagles.
Insight: Joe Webb looks likely to make his first NFL start on Tuesday night. (RapidDraft.com)

12/23/2010 5:19:00 PM
Description: Vikings QB Brett Favre reportedly failed his concussion test Thursday. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: He'll take the test again on Friday. But if he fails it the second time, his chances of trying to salvage his season are bleak for this week. The Vikings are expected to announce Favre's status by Saturday, but they are game planning as if Joe Webb will get the start. The Eagles defense is shaping up as a solid addition to starting lineups.

12/22/2010 11:00:00 PM
Description: The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Favre (concussion) was held out of practice on Wednesday.
Insight: Favre is unlikely to practice all week, but that does not necessarily mean he won't play Sunday night against Philadelphia at this point. (RapidDraft.com)

12/21/2010 5:33:00 PM
Description: Vikings interim HC Leslie Frazier says QB Brett Favre's (concussion) status for Sunday night against the Eagles is unknown. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Since it's Favre, we wouldn't be surprised if it looks like he is out all week, only to be active an hour before game-time like Monday night. We'll know more once we know if Favre passes all his tests this week. He's not a fantasy option regardless.

12/21/2010 9:43:00 AM
Description: After making a surprise start against the Bears, Vikings QB Brett Favre was knocked out in the second quarter with a concussion. SOURCE: NFL.COM
Insight: Bears DL Corey Wootton slammed Favre hard on the frozen turf and you could clearly see Favre's head and shoulder take a beating on the hit. We originally thought Favre re-injured the shoulder that had kept him out last week, but the concussion should finally sit Favre for good. It was a good run Brett. Please don't try and come back from this one.

12/21/2010 12:05:00 AM
Description: Favre (head) went 5-for-7 for 63 yards with a touchdown and an interception on Monday night against Chicago before leaving the game after being knocked to the turf.
Insight: Favre did not return with what looked to be a concussion, so we may have seen the last of him in the NFL. Maybe....(RapidDraft.com)

12/20/2010 11:05:00 PM
Description: Brett Favre left Monday's game against the Bears after a rough sack from Corey Wooten. His return is doubtful.
Insight: Joe Webb came in to replace Favre and has been greeted by the same aggressive defense that Favre was facing. It looks to be a long night for the Viking offense the rest of the way.
