Peppers headed to Green Bay
(SportsNetwork.com) - The Green Bay Packers have apparently agreed to a contract with free agent defensive end Julius Peppers.
Carl Carey, Peppers' agent, announced the move on Twitter Saturday morning.
"Julius Peppers is officially a Packer!" Carey tweeted, adding a picture of the defensive end signing a contract.
ESPN has reported the deal to be worth a maximum of $30 million for three years.
Peppers spent the past four seasons with NFC North-rival Chicago and played his first eight years with the Carolina Panthers. He led the Bears with seven sacks last season, his lowest total since 2007.
The 34-year-old North Carolina product has 118 1/2 career sacks and has missed just six games in his 12-year career. He also has nine interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns, and 39 forced fumbles.
