Murray, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Cameron Payne and Jeffery Moss each finished with 16 points to lead the Murray State Racers over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, 73-65, in an Ohio Valley Conference matchup at the CFSB Center.

For the Racers (12-8, 7-1 OVC), Jarvis Williams added 13 points and Dexter Field chipped in with 10, while Jonathan Fairell came up a point shy of a double-double as he cleared a game-high 13 rebounds.

Darion Rackley scored a game-high 18 points for the Gamecocks (10-14, 4-5), while Avery Moore finished with 15 and Brian Williams tallied 14 points.

Murray State shot just 38.5 percent from the field in the half but ended the period on a 14-5 run to take a slim lead at halftime, 33-32. JSU was a little better from the field, hitting 40 percent, but was outscored at the free-throw line in the period, 10-5.

After the break the Racers came out hot, connecting on 61.9 percent of their field goal tries, including 4-of-9 from 3-point distance. The Gamecocks tried to keep pace, making 45.5 of their field goal attempts and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc but it wasn't enough. Trailing 44-41, the Racers used a 10-0 run to take the lead for good.

MSU outscored the Gamecocks in the paint, 30-26, and also dominated on the boards, 40-25.
