(Saturday, January 18th)

Final Score: Seton Hall 67, Georgetown 57

Washington, D.C. (SportsNetwork.com) - Fuquan Edwin scored a game-high 24 points as the Seton Hall Pirates delivered a 67-57 win over the Georgetown Hoyas in Big East Conference action at the Verizon Center.

Edwin, who grabbed six rebounds and made five steals, converted 5-of-8 shots behind the 3-point line before fouling out for the Pirates (11-7, 2-3 Big East), snapping a three-game slide in the process. Sterling Gibbs, who made just 6-of-15 attempts at the free-throw line, came up an assist shy of a double-double as he dropped in 11 points, followed by Eugene Teague with 10 points and a team-best nine rebounds.

Mikael Hopkins produced a double-double for the Hoyas (11-6, 3-3) with 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, as the team bowed for the third time in the last four outings. D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera accounted for 14 points on just 4-of-12 shooting from the floor, followed by Aaron Bowen with 13 points and seven boards off the bench.

Seton Hall shot a mere 9-of-30 from the field in the first half, but the squad was able to stay in contention with six of those conversions taking place behind the 3-point line. Seton Hall also hurt itself with only 2-of-7 shooting at the free-throw line, compared to Georgetown which was a perfect 8-of-8 in order to claim a 35-26 advantage at the break.

The second half was a completely different story though, as the Pirates made good on 52.4 percent from the field and held the hosts to a grand total of just six field goals. The Hoyas continued to dig a hole for themselves with a mere 1-of-11 beyond the arc over the final 20 minutes of action.

Shooting out on the perimeter was key in this meeting as the visitors hit on 11-of-20 from 3-point range, the Hoyas just 4-of-18.
