Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. Warren exploded for a career-high 41 points as he carried the NC State Wolfpack to a 74-67 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers in an ACC clash at the Petersen Events Center.

Warren made good on 16-of-22 shots from the floor, including 3-of-5 behind the 3-point line for the Wolfpack (18-12, 8-9 ACC), as the team snapped a brief two-game slide. The only other player in double figures for NC State was Lennard Freeman who tallied 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds off the bench.

The Panthers (22-8, 10-7) were led by Josh Newkirk who registered a career- high 20 points as he connected on all five of his 3-point attempts and 7-of-8 from the floor overall for the hosts. Lamar Patterson tacked on 17 points and six assists, followed by Talib Zanna with 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds as the squad had a two-game win streak brought to an end.

Pittsburgh could not be stopped in the first half, leading by as many as 13 points in the period as it connected on 59.1 percent from the field, including 6-of-11 behind the 3-point line, yet at the break the squad led by just five points, 36-31.

After knocking down only 37.9 percent from the floor and 1-of-8 beyond the arc through the first 20 minutes of action, the Wolfpack turned it around in the second half. When NC State moved out to a 51-46 advantage about eight minutes into the frame, Warren had tallied 30 for the visitors.

While NC State went on to convert 57.7 percent from the field after intermission, the Panthers managed to knock down a total of only eight baskets as they fell into the loss column.

The scoring burst by Warren also set a new record at the Petersen Events Center.
