Williams and Sanders named CBA Players of the Week

Boise, ID (Sports Network) - Great Lakes Storm guard Ezra Williams and Dakota Wizards guard Melvin Sanders were named the Continental Basketball Association's Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for the final week of the regular season.

Williams averaged 23.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game last week. He collected 32 points and 14 boards in an overtime victory against Rockford on March 9 and chipped in 28 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in a loss versus Yakima the following day.

Sanders earned his second Player of the Week award in the last three weeks by averaging 29.8 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest. The Wizards went 3-2 during the final week of the regular season and captured the Western Conference title.

In the regular-season finale against the Lightning, Sanders poured in 54 points, pulled down 16 boards and handed out nine assists as the Wizards defeated Rockford. The 54 points was the highest single-game individual total in the league this season.

Other players receiving consideration were Gary's Jemeil Rich, Michigan's Sam Mack and Rockford's Marshall Phillips.
