Final Score: Chicago 2, Toronto 1

Bridgeview, IL (Sports Network) - Marco Pappa and Austin Berry scored after the hour mark as the Chicago Fire rallied for a 2-1 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday at Toyota Park in MLS.

Ryan Johnson scored in the first half for Toronto, but Pappa equalized in the 64th and Berry followed with the match-winner in the 84th as the Fire notched their fifth come-from-behind win this season.

Chicago (10-7-5) improved to 7-2-2 at home, and climbed within five points of first place in the Eastern Conference. The Houston Dynamo and Sporting Kansas City are tied on 40 points, with the Fire among three teams within five.

Toronto (5-13-4) lost its second straight, as it remained cemented at the foot of the East with just 19 points from 22 matches.

After Johnson gave TFC the early lead, Luis Silva had a shot deflected off the right post by Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson in first-half stoppage time.

Chicago rebounded from the poor finish to the first half, as Pappa scored into an empty net with goalkeeper Milos Kocic off his line and Berry turned a cross from Pavel Pardo into the top-left corner with a header six minutes from time.

Toronto will try to bounce back Aug. 11 when it hosts the Columbus Crew. The Fire visit the Philadelphia Union on Aug. 12 for their next game.
