Alabama extends WCWS with Game 2 win
Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) - Alabama gave up five runs in the bottom of the seven inning Tuesday night but held on to beat Oklahoma, 8-6, to even the Women's College World Series at one game apiece.
The winner-take-all Game 3 is Wednesday night.
Jackie Traina and Amanda Locke both had three-run doubles and Traina (41-3) threw all seven innings for the win, striking out eight and giving up just one run until the seventh.
Jessica Shults had two hits and four RBI, including a three-run homer to key Oklahoma's five-run seventh.
Oklahoma, which came away with a 4-1 win in Game 1 on Monday, scored one more run after Shults' blast but came up short in the comeback attempt.
Wednesday will be only the third Game 3 in WCWS history.
