Terry signs Chelsea extension

London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Chelsea announced Tuesday that John Terry has signed a one-year extension to remain at Stamford Bridge for another season.

"I'm delighted to have signed an extension to my contract with Chelsea taking me into my 20th year with the club," Terry told Chelsea's official website. "I'd like to thank the fans and club for their continued support, and the manager who was instrumental for me the last season."

The 33-year-old, who made his Chelsea debut in 1998, had received several options for foreign clubs but instead signed a deal with the Premier League outfit to remain with the Blues for at least one more year.
