Inter, Lazio continue push for Europa League

Milan, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - A pair of Europa League hopefuls meet up at the San Siro on Saturday as Inter Milan entertains Lazio with both teams pushing for a place in Europe.

Inter enters the weekend in fifth place, two points clear of sixth-place Torino, with two matches to play, and the club can take a big step toward clinching a spot in the Europa League with a win over Lazio, which is four points back of Inter but can really put itself in the mix with three points.

Walter Mazzarri's side lost 1-0 in the Milan derby to AC Milan last weekend, with a 0-0 draw against Napoli the previous weekend, so the boss will be eager to see his side return to the win column.

Lazio could have closed the gap on Inter last weekend but the capital club needed a last-gasp equalizer from Stefano Mauri to salvage a 3-3 draw with Hellas Verona.

In order for Lazio to get back into the Europa League mix, the club will need to continue its recent run of dominance over Inter with Edy Reja's men having won the last four meetings between the teams.

Fiorentina can lock up a Europa League place with a win at Livorno, which needs a win over the Viola to avoid being relegated.

Catania is second from the bottom and four points from safety and the team faces a huge match at Bologna, which is three points ahead of Catania in 18th place.

If Bologna is able to claim three points from the match, Catania will be relegated and Bologna will give itself a good chance at escaping the drop.

Chievo is one point clear of Bologna and visits Cagliari, while Sassuolo will also look to take a big step toward safety with a home win against Genoa.

At the other end of the table, the top two sides square off at the Stadio Olimpico as Roma hosts champions Juventus.

Third-place Napoli visits Sampdoria, Torino continues its push for a European place at home against Parma, Udinese invades Hellas Verona and AC Milan hits the road to face Atalanta.
