Description: Brewers starter Wily Peralta won his 14th game by posting 6 2/3 innings of one-run baseball. He struck out nine while giving up seven hits and a walk.
Insight: Peralta isn't the Brewers' pitcher when you think about their staff, but he's 14-6 with a 3.42 ERA. He's given up two runs or less in five consecutive outings.

Description: Brewers starter Wily Peralta held the Cardinals to one unearned run on three hits in seven innings Sunday to win his 10th game of the season.

Description: Brewers starter Wily Peralta was not sharp Monday at Atlanta.
Insight: Peralta walked a season-high four batters and allowed nine hits. However, he made it through five innings while allowing three runs (two earned). His BB/9 of 2.18 is still much lower than last year's 3.58, and he has a 2.18 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP.

Hot5/7/2014 3:59:00 PM
Description: Brewers starter Wily Peralta gave up 11 hits in six innings but didn't walk a batter and gave up just two earned runs Wednesday against Arizona.
Insight: Last year, Peralta (4-2, 2.17 ERA) would have imploded on a day when he gave up 11 hits. In fact, it happened twice and he gave up six earned runs both times. He stranded just 66.6 percent of his baserunners last season, but has posted an 83 percent strand rate in 2014 while also walking 1.81 fewer batters per nine innings.

Hot5/3/2014 9:54:00 AM
Description: Brewers starter Wily Peralta improved to 4-1 Friday with a win over Cincinnati.
Insight: He allowed just three hits over eight shutout innings. The right-hander has turned in a quality start in each of his last five appearances.

8/11/2013 7:47:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee righthander Wily Peralta pitched well on Sunday but it wasn't enough to beat the Mariners.
Insight: Peralta (8-12, 4.30 ERA) scattered four hits and two runs over eight innings. Felix Hernandez held the Brewers scoreless so it's tough to blame Peralta for the loss. Peralta's run support numbers this season have been among the worst in baseball (3.28 runs per game).

Description: Brewers starter Wily Peralta continued his recent string of dominant starts with eight shutout innings of two-hit ball Sunday against the Marlins.

7/9/2013 10:41:00 PM
Description: Brewers starter Wily Peralta, who suffered a left hamstring strain during his last start, threw his first shutout Tuesday against the Reds.
Insight: Peralta gave up just three hits, walked four and struck out six to pick up his sixth win of the season. The hard-throwing right-hander was 3-6 with a 6.35 ERA at the end of May, but he has gone 3-3 with a 3.08 ERA over his last eight starts.

7/3/2013 9:17:00 PM
Description: Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said that right-hander Wily Peralta is "iffy" for his next start Sunday due to a left hamstring strain.
Insight: Peralta didn't think he would miss the start, so there's still a chance he works Sunday against the Mets. The hard-throwing righty has gone 2-3 with a 3.76 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP since June 1 after posting a 6.35 ERA over the first two months, but he's still too erratic to trust in any fantasy leagues.

Insight: Peralta got his first taste of big league action last year and had a 2.48 ERA in 29 innings, but he hasn't carried that over into this season. He has allowed 69 hits and 37 earned runs in just 51 2/3 innings and can be dropped in all leagues.

Description: Brewers manager Ron Roenicke hinted Sunday that right-hander Wily Peralta could be the leading candidate to be the team's No. 3 starter behind Yovani Gallardo and Marco Estrada. "Peralta has huge upside," Roenicke said. "If he pitches like he did those few games last year, he's got huge upside." SOURCE: Adam McCalvy, MLB.com
Insight: Peralta was ranked as the Brewers' No. 2 prospect in 2012 by MLB.com. He started five games in September and went 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 28 innings. The other options for Milwaukee's starting rotation are Chris Narveson, Mike Fiers and Mark Rogers.

Insight: Peralta allowed just two hits while striking out five. He's 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA since being moved into the starting rotation and it looks like the 23-year-old has a very bright future ahead of him.

4/20/2012 4:41:00 PM
Description: Brewers top prospect Wily Peralta will get the call up to the big league club with Chris Narveson headed to the DL.
Insight: Marco Estrada, not Peralta, will start on Saturday, but expect Peralta to get a crack in the rotation soon enough. Peralta went 0-1 with a 2.12 ERA in three starts at Triple-A, allowing nine hits in 17 innings and striking out 13.
