Insight: Niese just can't seem to catch a break this spring. He missed time with a shoulder problem a few weeks ago and Sunday he hurt his elbow in a game against St. Louis. Originally tabbed as New York's Opening Day starter, it now looks like Niese (8-8, 3.71 ERA in 2013) will begin the year on the disabled list.

Insight: He departed with two outs in the sixth inning. Niese (6-6, 3.66 ERA) was shown stretching out his leg in the dugout, which would seem to indicate that the injury isn't serious. If the Mets bullpen can hold the lead, Niese should be able to walk away with his seventh win of the year.
