Description: Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg has been a completely different pitcher away from home this season.
Insight: Although he has pitched well during his past 3 starts overall (1-1 with a 2.29 ERA and 0.86 WHIP), owners need to be aware of Starsburg's road woes. He has compiled a 3-8 record with a 4.45 ERA away from National's Park in 2014. While it will be difficult to bench a guy like Strasburg during your fantasy playoffs, it would not come as a surprise if he has a tough time posting a quality line tonight, in Atlanta.

8/31/2014 8:43:00 AM
Description: A rare good start away from Nationals Park for starter Stephen Strasburg who allowed just six hits and one earned run Saturday night in Seattle.
Insight: Even after the contest his splits are extreme. He's an 8-2 pitcher with a 2.66 ERA at home and 3-8 with a 4.45 ERA on the road. Start him at home only.

8/24/2014 5:44:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg allowed five runs on eight hits in four innings Sunday against San Francisco.
Insight: He's given up seven jacks in his last four starts and 15 in his last 88 innings (1.53 HR/9). Strasburg reached 200 Ks for the first time in his career Sunday and leads the NL with 202, but fantasy owners expected more than 10 wins, a 3.59 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP.

8/24/2014 10:59:00 AM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg is just 10-10 overall, but he's a "different" pitcher in front of his home fans and should be started Sunday.
Insight: Strasburg is 8-2 at home with a 2.30 ERA, 1.011 WHIP and 116 Ks in 94 IP. That's 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings. He's also never lost to the Giants in his career, going 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 0.960 WHIP in four starts.

8/19/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg gave up a run in the first inning but wasn't scored upon again in his eight innings of work Tuesday against Arizona.
Insight: Strasburg held the Diamondbacks to three hits and struck out four en route to his 10th win. The right-hander gave up four homers and seven runs in five innings on Aug. 8 at Atlanta, but he's thrown at least seven innings and allowed one run or less in each of his other four starts since July 29.

8/14/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg allowed just three hits and one runs in seven innings of work Thursday with eight strikeouts.
Insight: After a horrible outing against the Braves this makes fantasy owners feel better going forward. He improves to 9-10, which is ugly considering the "stuff" he brings to the mound, but he has given up one run or less in three of his last four starts.

Hot8/3/2014 4:18:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg allowed just three hits and no runs in seven innings of work Sunday versus the Phillies.
Insight: Strasburg struck out 10 batters, the fifth time he's hit double-digits this season. His last two games, 14 IP, seven hits, one earned run is what fantasy owners expect, but don't often get, from this right-hander.

7/1/2014 10:34:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg allowed 11 runs on 17 hits (3 HR) in his last 10 2/3 innings of June and entered July with a 3.70 ERA, but he limited the Rockies to one run on five hits in 7 2/3 innings Tuesday night.
Insight: Batters have hit .348 on balls in play against Strasburg so he has a 3.53 ERA despite pitching to a 2.78 FIP. He could be in for a huge second half, as he's bound to see some better luck.

Hot5/30/2014 9:55:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg struck out nine batters and gave up two unearned runs in six innings Friday against the Rangers to improve to 4-4.
Insight: Strasburg's fielding-independent numbers -- 10.9 K/9, 2.30 BB/9, 0.61 HR/9, 2.43 FIP -- are impeccable, but his ERA is 3.15 because he's allowed a .359 BABIP. Once that comes down closer to the league average of .294, look out.

Hot5/13/2014 11:15:00 AM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg has yielded two earned runs or less in his last four outings (all wins) and faces an Arizona offense averaging just 3.80 runs per game.
Insight: Combine his solid pitching with a forecast that has the wind blowing in from right field at about 16 m.p.h. and we can't see Strasburg giving up many long balls tonight. He's also averaging 7.7 strikeout per outing in this four-game winning streak making him an excellent play on Tuesday.

Cold4/15/2014 10:29:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg struggled right off the bat Tuesday at Miami.
Insight: Strasburg gave up back-to-back singles to start the game and then a three-run blast to Giancarlo Stanton. He only lasted four innings and gave up six earned runs on eight hits with three walks. Strasburg has a 6.00 ERA and just one quality start in four outings so far.

4/10/2014 7:53:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg was dominant Thursday afternoon against the Marlins after producing mediocre results his first two times out.
Insight: Strasburg walked five batters and allowed seven earned runs over his first 10 1/3 innings, but he had a 12/1 K/BB and gave up one run in 6 2/3 frames Thursday to get his first win of the season. The right-hander now has 28 Ks in 17 innings.

2/18/2014 9:02:00 PM
Description: Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg is developing a slider, according to the Washington Post.
Insight: He picked up the pitch from teammates Jordan Zimmermann and Dan Haren and worked on grips and release points this offseason. Strasburg threw the second hardest fastball among starters last season at 95.2 mph and also had one of the top curveballs and changeups in the majors. If he can master a slider on top of those three pitches, it will help him take the next step toward becoming a top-five pitcher in the game.

12/10/2013 2:56:00 PM
Description: Nationals ace Stephen Strasburg, who had surgery to remove bone chips from his right elbow, is expected to be ready for Day 1 of Spring Training.
Insight: Strasburg didn't get much run support last season (3.47 RS was tenth-worst in the National League) but that shouldn't keep owners from taking him early in the 2014 fantasy draft as he posted a 3.00 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 191 Ks in 183 IP.

9/28/2013 10:02:00 AM
Description: In his last start of 2013, Stephen Strasburg led the Nationals to a win over Arizona Friday night.
Insight: Strasburg threw seven innings and gave up two runs. He went 8-9 this year despite recording a 3.00 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP and 191 strikeouts in 183 innings. His record should turn around next year as the Nationals bounce back from a disappointing season.

Insight: The Washington starter was slated to pitch on Saturday but that game got rained out. Strasburg (7-9, 2.96 ERA) missed his last turn in the rotation because of forearm stiffness.

9/20/2013 6:40:00 PM
Description: Stephen Strasburg has been confirmed as the starter for Washington's game Saturday against the Marlins, according to Adam Kilgore.
Insight: Strasburg hasn't pitched since Sept. 8 due to forearm tightness. While his K/9 is down and his record has gone from 15-6 to 7-9, Strasburg has performed better this season than he did in 2012. His ERA and WHIP have dropped and his H/9 is down from 7.7 to 6.6.
