             === CFL announces top players from both divisions ===
 Toronto,  ON (Sports  Network) -  The  Canadian Football  League on  Wednesday
 announced  the winners  of the top players in several categories from both the
 East and West Divisions.
 "In  a year that  we are celebrating the 100th Grey Cup and our proud history,
 it  was truly amazing  to see today's players perform at such a high level and
 set so many major CFL records," said CFL commissioner Mark Cohon.
 Jon  Cornish of  the Calgary Stampeders took  home the nod for best player and
 best  Canadian player in the West, while Edmonton's JC Sherritt was named best
 defensive  player, British  Columbia's  Tim Brown  earned top  special-teamer,
 while  Brown's teammates Jabar Westerman and Jovan Olafioye were tabbed as top
 rookie and offensive lineman, respectively.
 Montreal's  Shea  Emry also was doubly  honored, with best Canadian player and
 top  defensive  player for the  East. Chad Owens  of the Toronto Argonauts was
 tabbed  as  best  overall  player, while  Hamilton's  Chris  Williams  snagged
 special-teams honors, Winnipeg's Chris Matthews was given best rookie and Josh
 Bourke from the Als was named best offensive lineman.
 The  group combined  to set  four  CFL single-season  records, including  most
 combined  yards (Owens), most rushing yards by a Canadian (Cornish), most kick
 return touchdowns (Williams) and most tackles (Sherritt).
