Callejon helps Napoli down Roma

Naples, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Jose Callejon helped Napoli strengthen its bid for a second-place finish by grabbing the lone goal in the club's 1-0 defeat of Roma at the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday.

The two sides were level until the 80th minute when Callejon got on the end of Faouzi Ghoulam's cross to the back post and pumped a header off the woodwork and into the back of the net.

It proved to be all Napoli would need to get the win as the club improves to 55 points on the season, moving to within three points of second-place Roma.

The result saw Juventus extend its lead atop the Italian top flight to a comfortable 14 points over second-place Roma, while Fiorentina remains in fourth place with 45 points.

Alberto Paloschi converted penalty kicks in each half to hand Chievo a 2-1 win over Genoa, while Rodrigo Palacio's tally on the half-hour mark was enough to send Inter Milan to a 1-0 result over Torino.

Maximiliano Moralez scored on the hour mark and Antonio Candreva was shown a red card four minutes later as Atalanta came away with a 1-0 victory over 10- man Lazio, while Jonathan Ludovic Biabiany and Ezequiel Schelotto each found the back of the net for Parma in a 2-0 triumph over Hellas Verona.
