Inter tangles with Napoli in top-four clash

Naples, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Inter Milan manager Walter Mazzarri will be returning to the Stadio San Paolo for the first time since leaving his Napoli post in May.

Mazzarri spent four years in charge of Napoli before taking the reigns at Inter this summer. His side enters the contest in fourth place, four points back and one place in the table behind his old club.

Napoli's form over the past month has been inconsistent with the team losing league matches against Juventus and Parma, while being held to a draw by Udinese.

A 4-2 victory at Lazio was the lone bright spot for Napoli in its last four league matches, but the club is coming off of a 2-0 win over Arsenal in the Champions League in midweek.

Despite the win, Napoli was dropped into the Europa League on goal difference, and now manager Rafael Benitez must hope his side can carry momentum from that victory into Sunday's contest.

Inter brings an eight-match unbeaten streak into the weekend, but the Nerazzurri has been held to draws in its last three fixtures, leaving the club 12 points back of leaders Juventus.

Mazzarri will hope that Inter can snap its lack of success at the San Paolo with the club having earned just one win from its last nine trips to the ground.

Juventus hosts Sassuolo on Sunday with the team sitting three points clear at the top of the league. But the Old Lady must shake off a disappointing exit from the Champions League on Wednesday at the hands of Galatasaray, which scored in the 85th minute courtesy of Wesley Sneijder for the 1-0 victory.

Roma snapped a run of four successive draws with a 2-1 triumph over Fiorentina last time out, leaving the team three points back of Juve and five clear of Napoli.

The capital club travels to AC Milan on Monday in hopes of continuing that winning run, while fifth-place Fiorentina meets up with second-from-the-bottom Bologna.

Hellas Verona remains in the top half of the league and visits last-place Catania in Saturday's lone match, with the rest of the schedule taking place on Sunday.

Chievo and Sampdoria square off with the two sides separated by one point in the bottom half of the league, Atalanta travels to Genoa, Lazio entertains Livorno, Parma faces Cagliari and Udinese takes on Torino.
