He's much healthier now and has scored a goal in five consecutive games. Bergeron has 25 goals, 28 assists and an NHL-leading +38 rating this season.

If you recall, Bergeron led a three-goal comeback in the third period of Game 7 against Toronto last May. Boston would go on to lose to the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals, four games to two.

Insight: That's a hefty raise but Bergeron certainly deserved it after his phenomenal display in the postseason (nine goals, six assists in 22 games). Bergeron is still recovering from multiple injuries including broken ribs, a punctured lung and a separated shoulder but he should be ready by the time training camp starts up in September.

Insight: The two sides already have a dialogue going about an eight-year extension somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 million. He definitely boosted his stock by having a spectacular postseason (nine goals and six assists in 22 playoff games). Assuming Bergeron heals up relatively soon, he should be one of the first forwards taken in next season's fantasy draft.

Description: Boston center Patrice Bergeron has been hospitalized since the end of Game 6 Monday due to a variety of injuries, including a small hole in his lung, according to Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Bergeron played Game 6 with broken ribs and torn cartilage and also separated his shoulder during the first period. The team doesn't think the lung puncture happened during the game, however.

Insight: Bergeron was questionable after suffering an injury in Game 5 but he was on the ice in warmups and now NBC has confirmed that he's playing. Bergeron has been the Bruins' go-to scorer this postseason. In 21 contests, he already has nine goals and six assists to go along with a +2 rating.
