Tigers keep Dotel, Peralta

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers exercised their club options on reliever Octavio Dotel and shortstop Jhonny Peralta for the 2013 season.

Dotel, a 14-year veteran, appeared in 57 games out of the bullpen last season and posted a 5-3 record with a 3.57 ERA. He pitched five innings of scoreless ball for the American League champs in the postseason.

Peralta, 30, hit .239 with 13 home runs and 63 RBI in 150 games in 2012. He belted three homers in the playoffs and drove in five runs.
