GAME NOTES: Villanova has used dominating defense to record three blowout wins in as many games this season. The Wildcats hope to go to 4-0 when they entertain the Delaware Blue Hens at The Pavilion on Friday.

The Wildcats have forced 54 turnovers over their first three contests - wins against Lafayette, Mount St. Mary's and Towson. Jay Wright's squad forced 24 in the 78-44 triumph over Towson Sunday. James Bell scored 20 points to pace the Wildcats. JayVaughn Pinkston and Ryan Arcidiacono each notched a dozen points and Darrun Hilliard added another 10.

Bell, a senior forward, paces the team with 18.7 points and is second with 7.0 rebounds. Pinkston, a redshirt junior, is averaging 18.3 points per game, which is second on the team. Pinkston is also shooting 59 percent from the field. His ability to get to the foul line is fueling 'Nova early. Pinkston averaged 7.1 attempts from the charity stripe last year, and through three games he's visited the line 21 times, going 16-of-21. Darrun Hilliard (13.7 ppg), a junior guard, is 16-of-29 from the floor thus far and has also contributed 11 assists.

Villanova has limited opponents to 31.1 percent shooting in the early part of the season. Their turnover margin of plus-6.3 per game has them atop the Big East.

The Blue Hens head into this matchup off road wins against Hampton and Army. On Tuesday, Jarvis Threatt had 21 points and eight assists to lead Delaware to an 89-74 win over the Black Knights. Davon Usher and Kyle Anderson contributed 16 points apiece. In fact, all five Blue Hen starters were in double figures. Carl Baptiste had 14 and Marvin King-Davis 13. The Blue Hens are averaging 85.2 points per game, which leads the CAA. Threatt has posted 48 points over the last two contests and is averaging 17 points. He also leads the team with 24 assists and 13 steals.

Delaware heads will be without the services of leading scorer Devon Saddler. He's been suspended for a month for unspecified school/team violation. That's a loss of 23 points per game. Because of this, Usher (16.3 ppg), Anderson (14.8 ppg) and Baptiste (11.8) have picked up the scoring slack in the early going.

Dating back to the end of last season, Delaware has won six of its last eight road contests. The problem here for the Blue Hens is Villanova has won all previous 11 meetings with Delaware, including victories in each of the past four seasons. Expect another dominating win for the Wildcats.
