=== Canada coach Hart resigns after qualifying exit ===

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Canada men's national team manager Stephen Hart
resigned Thursday, two days after the country was eliminated in qualifying for
the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Canada entered the final game of the semifinal stage of CONCACAF qualifying in
need of a tie or win to advance to the last six-team group, but was humiliated
in an 8-1 loss at Honduras on Tuesday.

Canada had four wins and two draws to advance from the first qualifying round,
but suffered losses to Panama and Honduras in the semifinal stage to finish at
3-2-1 and one point behind those two nations in third place in Group C.

Only the top two teams advanced to the final round of qualifying.

Hart was named manager in December 2009. Including a stint as interim manager,
 Hart was 20-15-10 with Canada.

Canada has qualified for the World Cup just once, in 1986.
