=== Report: Wake Forest to hire Bowling Green's Clawson ===

(SportsNetwork.com) - Bowling Green head football coach Dave Clawson has
agreed to take the same position at Wake Forest, multiple media outlets
 reported on Monday.

According to SportsIllustrated.com, Clawson was chosen over another Mid
American Conference coach, Ball State's Pete Lembo, to become Jim Grobe's
successor at Wake Forest. Grobe resigned last week after a generally
accomplished 13-year run with the Demon Deacons, though the program endured
its fifth straight losing campaign by going 4-8 in 2013.

Clawson has guided Bowling Green to a 10-3 record as well as this year's MAC
championship, with the Falcons knocking off previously unbeaten Northern
Illinois in Friday's title game to earn their first league crown since 1992.

Bowling Green has eclipsed its victory total in each of the last four seasons
under Clawson, going 8-5 and receiving a bid to the Military Bowl in 2012. The
Falcons will participate in the Little Caesar's Bowl on Dec. 26, squaring off
against Pittsburgh in a return trip to Detroit's Ford Field, the site of last
 week's MAC Championship.

Clawson has compiled a 32-31 overall mark over five seasons at Bowling Green
and previously put together successful stints as a head coach at both Fordham
and Richmond, having led both of those FCS schools to playoff appearances
 during his tenures there.
