New Orleans Pelicans (19-25) at Minnesota Timberwolves (22-22), 8 p.m.
(SportsNetwork.com) - The New Orleans Pelicans have won three in a row and
will try to extend that streak Wednesday when they visit the Minnesota
Timberwolves at Target Center.
The Pelicans have topped the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and Cleveland
Cavaliers during this streak. New Orleans has also won three straight on the
On Tuesday, Anthony Davis had 30 points, seven rebounds and eight blocked
shots to help the Pelicans to a 100-89 win over the Cavaliers.
Eric Gordon added 20 points and nine assists, while Brian Roberts and Al-
Farouq Aminu finished with 12 points apiece for the Pelicans.
"We put a lot of things together. We played good, solid defense. We were
making good plays and we were all attacking the rim. We just made good plays
without turning over the ball," said Gordon. "It feels good. It shows that
we're getting better and improving."

The Wolves have played well of late, too. They've won four of their last five,
including a 95-86 victory Monday in Chicago over the Bulls.
All-Star starter Kevin Love poured in a game-high 31 points to go with eight
rebounds to lead the Timberwolves to a 95-86 win at United Center. Love went a
perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line, setting a new career high for free
throws made without a miss.
Ronny Turiaf and Chase Budinger added 14 and 12 points, respectively, off the
bench for the Timberwolves. Corey Brewer managed 11 points.
"What we can take from this is knowing we can win on the road," Love said.
The Wolves are 10-14 on the road this season and 12-8 at home.
Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic played just six minutes in Chicago after
inuring his right ankle in the first quarter. He will miss at least a week
after an MRI revealed bursitis in the ankle.
The Wolves bested the Pelicans by 12 in Minnesota on New Year's Day. Minnesota
has taken three straight and four of five, including three in a row at the
