Final Score: Pittsburgh 5, Philadelphia 4

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - For the second game in a row the Pirates won in their final at-bat as Andrew McCutchen's RBI single with two outs in the ninth gave Pittsburgh a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the finale of a three-game set.

With David Herndon (0-1) on the mound, Casey McGehee doubled to left to start the inning and Josh Harrison, who came on to run, moved to third on a sac bunt from Alex Presley, who beat the throw to first on a slow grounder to score the winning run in the 10th inning of Saturday's victory.

After Jose Tabata struck out, McCutchen clubbed a pitch over the head of center fielder Shane Victorino for the win.

"None of us wanted to go back out on the field after playing extras yesterday," said McCutchen. "I just got hold of a good pitch and was able to drive it deep. This is a great series to start the season."

McCutchen finished 3-for-4 with a run scored while Pedro Alvarez hit a solo home run and scored twice for the Pirates, who took the final two games of the set after losing the opener. James McDonald went six innings in the start and gave up two runs on four hits. Joel Hanrahan (1-0) got the win for pitching a flawless ninth.

Hunter Pence hit a solo homer and drove in two while Juan Pierre had a two-run single for the Phillies, who got six innings of one-run, five-hit ball from starter Vance Worley.

"You know we've played three games and you can't say we played good," said Philadelphia manager Charlie Manuel. "But we've played three games. It just goes to show how much better we have to play and how much harder we have to work."

The Phils got a run in the first when Victorino singled and later scored on a double from Pence and it was 2-0 in the fourth after Pence's solo shot to left-center.

Alvarez led off the fifth with a homer out of the ball park to right field, but a two-run single from Pierre in the seventh staked the Phillies to a 4-1 lead.

The Pirates, though, rallied in the seventh to make it a one-run game. With two outs and one on, McGehee doubled home one run and Presley followed with an RBI single to make it a 4-3 game.

In the eighth inning, McCutchen singled and later stole second. Following a walk to Yamaico Navarro, Clint Barmes struck out for the second out, but Matt Hague punched a single to shallow left and McCutchen came home to tie the game.
