New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado has been named the National League's Player of the Week for the period of Aug. 18-24.

Arenado posted a major league-best 1.045 slugging percentage and led the NL with a .545 batting average over five games. The 2013 NL Gold Glove recipient added three solo homers, three doubles and a triple while scoring six runs and going 12-for-22 at the plate.

The 23-year-old is the second Colorado player in as many weeks to receive the award, with outfielder Corey Dickerson capturing the honor for games played from Aug. 11-17.

Also considered for this week's NL award were Lucas Duda of the New York Mets, Atlanta's Jason Heyward and Justin Upton, Miami's Marcell Ozuna, Washington's Jayson Werth, Milwaukee pitcher Mike Fiers and Chicago Cubs reliever Hector Rondon.
