NCAA Game Summary - Ball State at Central Michigan

Mount Pleasant, MI (Sports Network) - Keith Wenning completed 23-of-30 passes
for 231 yards and three touchdowns with one interception to lead the Ball
State Cardinals to a 41-30 victory over the Central Michigan Chippewas in a
Mid-American Conference game at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
Ball State (5-3, 3-2 MAC) established a balance running attack with Jahwan
Edwards and Barrington Scott. Edwards carried the ball 21 times for 128 yards
and as for Scott, he had 99 yards on 25 carries and scored one touchdown.
As for Central Michigan (2-5, 0-3) which lost its fourth straight game, Ryan
Radcliff completed 23-of-38 passes for 339 yards and three touchdowns with one
interception. His favorite target was Cody Wilson who caught seven passes for
111 yards and two touchdowns. Zurlon Tipton had 126 yards on 17 carries and
one touchdown.
On the opening drive, Central Michigan drove down to the red zone and David
Harman missed a 38-yard field goal.
Ball State punched it in on a six-yard touchdown run by Scott to put the
Cardinals up, 7-0.
Radcliff then threw an interception when the Chippewas were in the red zone
on their next possession. .
Central Michigan regained possession and Radcliff connected with Ben McCord
for a 22-yard touchdown to tie the game up, 7-7.
On their next possession, the Cardinals scored on a one-yard touchdown run by
Wenning to give them a 14-7 lead.
The Chippewas responded with a 51-yard field goal from David Harman, which
made the score 14-10.
Midway through the second quarter, Ball State kicker Steven Schott made a 40-
yard field goal to increase the Cardinals lead to 17-10.
At the end of the first half, Wenning connected with Willie Snead for a
six-yard touchdown pass to add on to the lead..
To open up the second half, Radcliff fumbled and Ball State's Nathan Ollie
recovered it. The Cardinals took advantage of the turnover when Wenning
connected with Zane Fakes for a five-yard touchdown pass to give them a
commanding 31-10 lead.
Central Michigan scored on a five-yard touchdown pass from Radcliff to Wilson,
but still trailed, 31-17.
Wenning added to their lead when he connected with Scott for a seven-yard
touchdown pass.
In the fourth quarter, Tipton scored on a six-yard touchdown run to put the
score at 38-23, after the extra point was blocked.
Schott added to the Ball State lead when he made a 32-yard field goal.
Central Michigan tried to put together a late game rally when Radcliff
connected with Wilson for a 18-yard touchdown, but it was not enough as Ball
State got the 41-30 victory.
Ball State out gained Central Michigan on the ground 233-107.
