NCAA Game Summary - Middle Tennessee vs. Maine

Chattanooga, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Dimitry Coronel tallied 27 points as the
Maine Black Bears bested the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in overtime, 89-85,
as part of the Dr. Pepper Classic at McKenzie Arena.
Coronel shot 10-of-22 from the field for the Black Bears (2-9), including 5-
of-8 from 3-point range. Zarko Valjarevic netted 20 points on 7-of-10 from the
floor. Shaun Lawton and Kilian Cato both scored 12 points.
Shawn Jones recorded a double-double with 16 points and an impressive 20
rebounds for the Blue Raiders (8-5). Neiko Hunter scored 20 points on 7-of-17
from the field. Jaqawn Raymond (18 points), Kerry Hammonds (12) and Reggie
Upshaw (10) also scored in double figures.
Both teams struggled to find their scoring touch in the first half, with the
Black Bears shooting 35.5 percent from the field and the Blue Raiders shooting
34.3 percent but helping themselves at the line where they were 10-of-15. At
halftime Middle Tennessee held onto a slight, 34-31, advantage.
The Black Bears stepped up their game in the second half, shooting a much
improved 65.4 percent from the floor, including 8-of-11 from 3-point range.
With 1:29 left a Cato dunk tied the score at 74-74, taking the game to

relinquish that lead, hitting 6-of-7 at the free-throw line to secure the
Middle Tennessee's 3-point shooting was a major weakness, as the Blue Raiders
hit only 5-of-25 from the perimeter. The Black Bears, in turn, hit 14-of-22
from beyond the arc.
Maine will face the Chattanooga in its final game of the event on Monday and
Middle Tennessee State will take on Grand Canyon.
