CFL Game Summary - Winnipeg at Saskatchewan

Regina, SK (Sports Network) - Darian Durant threw for 312 yards and four
touchdowns to lead the Saskatchewan Roughriders to a 48-25 rout of the
Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday.
Durant completed 24-of-36 passes and also rushed for 33 yards on three
carries. Kory Sheets rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns and Taj Smith
caught seven passes for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Roughriders
(8-1), winners in three straight.
Chris Getzlaf added seven catches for 112 yards and Geroy Simon hauled in five
passes for 49 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the triumph.
Winnipeg quarterback Justin Goltz completed 17-of-28 passes for 200 yards and
a pair of interceptions. He added 72 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while
Jason Boltus had a score on the ground for the Blue Bombers (1-8), losers in
Winnipeg got on the board with a safety just over six minutes into the game.
Sheets took the handoff in the end zone and was stuffed by Henoc Muamba behind
the goal line.
Sheets, though, redeemed himself with 28 seconds left in the first quarter,
bulling his way into the end zone from three yards out.
After Winnipeg picked up a single just over two minutes into the second frame,
Boltus made it 10-7 in the Blue Bombers' favor with a one-yard touchdown
Goltz's 6-yard touchdown run gave Winnipeg an 18-7 lead, but Durant hooked up
with Simon for a 21-yard TD reception 31 seconds later to pull the Roughriders
It was all Saskatchewan in the second half, however. Sheets notched his second
rushing TD of the game four minutes into the third quarter and Chris Milo
buried a 47-yard field goal later on to give the Roughriders a 24-18 lead.
Durant connected with Smith on a 12-yard touchdown just under two minutes into
the fourth, but Goltz broke off a 46-yard touchdown run shortly afterward to
pull Winnipeg within 31-25.
Durant then connected with Smith once again, this time from seven yards out,
and Milo added a 23-yard field goal to put Saskatchewan up 41-25.
Durant's 5-yard touchdown toss to Simon with just over two minutes left
accounted for the final margin.
The teams will complete their home-and-home series on Sept. 8 in Winnipeg ...
Weston Dressler caught two passes for 44 yards for the Roughriders ... Earlier
in the week, the Bombers released both receiver Isaac Anderson and kicker
Justin Palardy. Additionally, Winnipeg signed former NFL receiver Mike Sims-
Walker, the 79th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft ... Cory Watson caught
three passes for 78 yards for Winnipeg.
