Martino finished as Paraguay manager

Asuncion, Paraguay (Sports Network) - Gerardo Martino said on Monday that he is leaving his post as manager of Paraguay after his team lost 1-0 to Spain in the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup on Saturday.

Martino announced that his four-year contract had expired and that he was interested in job offers elsewhere, including in his native Argentina, Saudi Arabia and Mexico.

Striker Roque Santa Cruz also announced on Monday that he has played in his final World Cup for Paraguay after appearing in all five of the teams games in South Africa.

Santa Cruz is coming off of an injury-plagued season with Manchester City and cited wear and tear on his body as the main reason for his decision, although he didn't rule out playing in the 2011 Copa America competition for Paraguay.
