Bobby Convey has 14 goals and 33 assists in 189 career MLS appearances.
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) -
Toronto FC announced Thursday that the club has acquired midfielder Bobby Convey from Sporting Kansas City in exchange for a first-round pick in the 2014 MLS Supplemental Draft.
"This is a good mid-season deal for Toronto FC," said Toronto FC President and General Manager Kevin Payne. "We are in need of quality MLS players on our team and Bobby fits the bill perfectly. I've known Bobby since he was a 16- year-old rookie in MLS; and literally living in the basement of my home. He can be a very influential player in MLS and we look forward to him helping us move forward in the league."
Convey, 29, became the youngest player ever signed by MLS upon being drafted by D.C. United in 2000. On July 22, 2004, he signed with Reading of England's Championship division where he would stay until his release in 2009.
