Sandy, UT (SportsNetwork.com) -
Real Salt Lake closed out its regular season in style on Wednesday, rolling to a 2-0 victory over 10-man Chivas USA at Rio Tinto Stadium.
With a playoff berth already secured, RSL was hoping to finish the regular season strong and Jeff Cassar's men achieved their goal with tallies from Alvaro Saborio and captain Kyle Beckerman to move into third place in the West with 56 points, two clear of FC Dallas.
Chivas USA entered the match some confidence riding a two-match winning streak and looking for the season sweep of RSL, but the Goats created very little in the way of scoring chances and remain in eighth place in the West with 30 points.
