London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho confirmed on Monday that striker Fernando Torres will be out for "a few weeks" after injuring his knee against Manchester United.
Torres began Sunday's 3-1 win over United on the bench with Samuel Eto'o preferred to the Spaniard, but Torres entered as a substitute in the 79th minute and sustained the injury in the closing stages of the match.
"At the moment we lose Fernando for a few weeks, he has a problem with his lateral ligament," Mourinho told Sky Sports. "For a few weeks now we will have Demba and Samuel and hope they can do the job for us."
The injury to Torres leaves Mourinho with only two healthy strikers in Eto'o and Demba Ba as the Blues get ready to face Stoke City in the FA Cup prior to a league encounter with West Ham.
Torres has netted four goals in 17 league matches this season for the Blues, but has found his form a bit after a slow start, scoring in each of his last two league outings prior to Sunday.
