Description: Giants linebacker Jon Beason was carted off the field Thursday with a right foot injury, according to a nj.com report.
Insight: He was acquired by New York in a trade with Carolina last season. Beason is expected to be the defensive captain and the heart of the defense, so any long-term injury would be devastating.

Description: The trade sending linebacker Jon Beason from the Panthers to the Giants is official.
Insight: Beason was traded for a late-round draft pick in 2014. The 28-year-old is a three-time Pro Bowler but he hasn't been the same in recent years after an Achilles injury and microfracture knee surgery.

Description: Carolina linebacker Jon Beason (knee) has been placed on injured reserve and will be out for the remainder of the 2012 season.

Description: Panthers MLB Jon Beason has been officially diagnosed with a torn Achilles' tendon, and will miss the 2011 season.
Source: Joseph Person via Twitter
Insight: Not a good week for IDP studs this week. Beason, who had never missed start since 2007, is officially done for the year. A lot of sources around the league mentioned that he had come back too quickly from the injury a few weeks ago and this is the result. Dan Connor will be the starting MIKE going forward.

Description: Panthers MLB Jon Beason was carted off in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Cardinals with an ankle injury.
Insight: Beason went down in a heap in pursuit and he immediately clutched his leg in pain. It's unclear as to whether it's related to the Achilles', but the way he clutched his leg, it could be serious. Dan Connor will finish the game and will be his replacement at the middle, so Beason owners might want to hit the wire.

Carolina Panthers HC Ron Rivera said he hopes LB Jon Beason will be able to play in Week 1 even though he recently underwent a procedure on his injured Achilles' tendon.
SOURCE: CHARLOTTE OBSERVER
Insight: Not sure it's going to matter. These injuries don't heal overnight, and as optimistic as the Panthers might be about this, there's still a less-than-10% chance Beason will be ready to go the first game of the year.

Description: Coach Ron Rivera is starting to get "concerned" over MLB Jon Beason's (Achilles) status for the season opener.
Source: Charlotte Observer
Insight: Beason has been on the field for every game in his career, but has to participate in an August practice because of his Achilles' injury. This is also an injury that could nag all season. It's tough to drop him down in the IDP rankings, as I anticipate him just getting a shot of some sort of and hitting the field. Omar Gaither and Dan Connor are his backups, but don't expect a decision until closer to week one.

Description: A Mecklenburg County jury found Thursday that Panthers LB Jon Beason did not strike Greg Frye, who accused Beason of punching him in the face at a strip club in November 2009. Frye, 30, who posed as Panthers defensive end Tyler Brayton on the night of the incident, told Panthers tight end Dante Rosario he had seen Beason using cocaine at a party on Lake Norman a few months earlier.
The jury determined Frye had slandered Beason, and awarded him $1, the amount Beason requested in his countersuit.
Beason, a three-time Pro Bowler, interrupted his offseason training for the nine-day trial. He said offensive linemen Jordan Gross and Travelle Wharton are organizing a two-week regimen that will mimic OTAs (organized team activities), which have been wiped out because of the NFL lockout.
The workouts will begin May 31. Beason is not sure of the location, but he plans to be there.
"Everybody knows how I feel about training down in south Florida. But for me, I would just love to be back here in Charlotte in OTAs getting ready for the season," Beason said. "So we decided that we're going to do something on the 31st. We'll be around for about two weeks. Get everybody in, and let's be together and get this new scheme (in)."

Description: The Charlotte Observer reports that Beason set a Panthers' franchise record with 169 tackles this season.

Description: Beason has returned to practice and is ready to go for Sunday's tilt against Philadelphia.
