NCAA Game Summary - Akron at Kent State

Kent, OH (Sports Network) - Dir Archer and Trayion Durham each rushed for over
100 yards as the Kent State Golden Flashes rode a strong second half to a
35-24 win over the Akron Zips in Mid-American Conference play at Dix Stadium.
Archer racked up 126 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries while Durham had
107 yards and three scores on 24 carries for Kent State (8-1, 5-0 MAC).
Spencer Keith completed 14-of-19 pass attempts for 103 yards and also scored a
touchdown on the ground. The Golden Flashes have won seven straight.
Dalton Williams threw for 312 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 30-of-41
passing for Akron (1-9, 0-6). Jawon Chisholm rushed for 115 yards and a
touchdown and Marquelo Suel hauled in 11 passes for 85 yards. Akron has lost
seven straight.
Akron opened up the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Williams to
Jerrod Dillard midway through the first quarter. The score finished off a 14-
play drive that went for 89 yards and lasted more than six minutes.
Williams hooked up with Dillard for a touchdown, this time from 21 yards out,
as the Zips' lead grew to 14-0.
Kent State cut into that lead early in the second quarter when Durham scored
on a one-yard touchdown run.
The Zips answered right back with a 50-yard touchdown run from Chisholm a
little more than four minutes later.
Keith scored on a four-yard touchdown run to put an end to an eight-play,
60-yard drive.
Robert Stein would add a 32-yard field goal as time expired in the first half
to move Akron to a 24-14 advantage.
A six-yard touchdown run from Durham midway through the third quarter helped
Kent State cut into the Zips' lead.
Kent State would take its first lead of the game on a 30-yard touchdown run
from Archer on the Golden Flashes' next possession.
Durham would add a 15-yard touchdown run with less than a minute left in
regulation to seal the win for the Golden Flashes.
Kent State converted on just 3-of-11 attempts on third down but was successful
on both fourth down conversion tries.
