Final Score: Vanderbilt 19, Missouri 15

Columbia, MO (Sports Network) - The Vanderbilt Commodores took advantage of a banged up Missouri Tigers and rallied to a 19-15 victory at Faurot Field.

For the Commodores (2-3, 1-2), Jordan Rodgers threw for 180 yards and an interception on 14-of-24 passing. Zac Stacy averaged just 2.5 yards per carry, rushing for 72 yards on 29 touches, but added the only two touchdowns for the visitors.

Tigers' (3-3, 0-3 SEC) starting quarterback James Franklin completed 5-of-9 passes for 56 yards before leaving the game with a left knee sprain midway through the first quarter. Freshman Corbin Berkstresser, who already has a win under his belt after starting for an injured Franklin earlier in the year, was unable to get into any sort of rhythm. He completed just 9-of-30 for 189 yards and a touchdown. He also lost a fumble on his first drive of the game. Kendial Lawrence ran for 92 yards on 21 rushes.

Missouri moved the ball well early on with Franklin but failed take full advantage of two first quarter trips to the red zone. Andrew Baggett connected on two field goal attempts from 31 and 28 yards away. Missouri led 6-0 near the end of the first half when punter Trey Barrow fumbled a snap in the end zone, causing the ball to trickle out of bounds for a Vanderbilt safety.

The Commodores gained just 18 total yards in the first quarter, and they were only able to sustain one drive of more than four plays in the entire half. That one drive did result in a touchdown run by Stacy which capped an 11-play, 82-yard drive, sending Vandy into halftime leading 9-6.

The Tigers' four second quarter possessions resulted in three punts and a turnover on downs. Berkstresser was only able to complete four of his 14 first half pass attempts. Both teams were 1-of-8 on third downs in the half.

The third quarter was reminiscent of the first half, as neither team was able to assert themselves offensively. Missouri managed a field goal late in the third period to tie the score at 9-9.

Stacy gave Vanderbilt the lead back early in the fourth frame when he ran for his second touchdown of the game, this one from 14 yards out. Missouri struck back quickly when Berkstresser, who had struggled mightily to this point, threw an 85-yard touchdown pass to Bud Sasser. Unfortunately for the Tigers, their extra point attempt was unsuccessful when T.J. Moe botched the snap and his subsequent desperation pass attempt fell incomplete. Vanderbilt added a late field goal and stopped Missouri on fourth down from the Commodores' 16-yard line with 2:43 remaining in the game. Stacy managed to move the chains which gave Vandy the ability to run out the clock.

The loss is Missouri's second at home already. They did not drop a single game at Faurot Field in each of the past two seasons. Vanderbilt's win evens the all-time series with the Tigers, 2-2-1.
