Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Jarred DuBois scored a game-high 22 points as
the Utah Utes defeated the USC Trojans, 69-66, in the first round of the
Pac-12 tournament at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Jordan Loveridge was one-rebound shy of a double-double for the Utes (14-17)
in their first-ever Pac-12 tournament victory. Jason Washburn contributed 10
points and five boards. Utah will advance to face the California Golden Bears
in a quarterfinal bout.
For the Trojans (14-18), Omar Oraby recorded a double-double with a career-
high 18 points and 10 rebounds. J.T. Terrell added 14 points and five boards,
while Eric Wise chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds.
In the first half, USC made 11-of-32 field goal attempts including 0-of-6
behind the arc. Utah knocked down 12-of-33 from the floor including 3-of-8
from long-range, en route to the 35-28 advantage at the break.
In the second, USC made 17-of-34 from the floor including 3-of-8 from long-
range. Utah knocked down 10-of-24 field goals including 4-of-8 beyond. Utah
also made 10-of-12 free-throws as it held on to the three-point victory.
Utah survived despite being dominated, 32-10, in points in the paint, and
being controlled, 42-36, on boards.
