Final Score: Miami-Ohio 82, Illinois-Chicago 70

Oxford, OH (Sports Network) - Will Sullivan shot a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor en route to a game-high 16 points, and the Miami-Ohio Redhawks claimed an 82-70 win over the Illinois-Chicago Flames at Millett Hall.

Will Felder and Jon Harris added 14 points apiece, and Reggie Johnson scored 12 to help the RedHawks (4-6) snap a four-game slide.

Gary Talton scored a team-high 15 points and Daniel Barnes finished with 14 for the Flames (9-3), who had an eight-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday night at Western Illinois. Joey Miller chipped in with 11 points, while Hayden Humes and Josh Crittle each scored 10 in a losing effort.

A 3-pointer by Johnson kick-started an early 9-0 run for the RedHawks, which turned a two-point advantage into a 20-9 lead with just under 12 minutes to play in the opening frame. Miami led by as many as 14 at the 4:59 mark of the first half, and the RedHawks took a 39-28 lead into the half despite allowing UIC to shoot 54.2 percent from the floor in the opening stanza.

The Flames hung around thanks to a 6-of-13 effort from beyond the arc after halftime. However, the RedHawks were nearly automatic over the final 20 minutes, shooting 14-of-21 from the floor (.667).

Miami forced 19 turnovers for the game and was particularly effective from long range, sinking 10-of-19 threes (.526) as UIC was unable to match the blistering scoring pace.
