Ravens, Harbaugh agree on extension

(Sports Network) - The Baltimore Ravens and head coach John Harbaugh have reportedly agreed on a contract extension.

Harbaugh, who had two years left on his current deal, led the Ravens to a victory in Super Bowl XLVII last season, posting a 10-6 record in the regular season before running the table in the playoffs.

Multiple media outlets reported the extension to be four years in length just prior to Baltimore opening its title defense Thursday in Denver against the Broncos, though the Baltimore Sun is reporting that the pact was reached months ago.

The Ravens have not made any official announcement.

Harbaugh became Baltimore's head coach in 2008 and led the Ravens to an 11-5 regular-season record before bowing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC championship game.

The 50-year-old Harbaugh owns a 63-30 overall record as Baltimore's bench boss and has guided the Ravens to the playoffs in every season as head coach, including three AFC title games and the Super Bowl XLVII championship.
